We've been busy writing in Writers Workshop again. This piece of writing is by Ronak and is about a cricket match between New Zealand and Zimbabwe.

The Last Game

“It’s the last game for the session”, said Dad, “NZ vs Zimbabwe.”

NZ needed to hit 145 runs so they could win, Brendon Macculum was batting 6th. The first ball was going to be bowled, it bounced and nearly hit the wickets. I shouldn’t of left the ball because these guys were aiming at the stumps.
Macculum was next in they were on 94/5, when the next ball is bowled if he’s out were going to loose. Then I needed 27 runs from 12 balls, the next batsman was coming in to bat, the person bowled and he got out, we saw Macculum coming in next.
We needed 8 runs from 6 balls, the next ball we smashed but I only got one run. The next ball Macculum smashed for a four, everyone was so happy, we only needed 3 runs off 1 ball. I was on strike, he spun it and I hit for a 6. I got my 50 runs. Yay!! Me and Macculum celebrated so MUCH and we had won the game
